Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has named a 15-member squad to face the touring New Zealand Women’s ‘A’ side in a three-match One-Day series this month, Newswire reported on Monday.

Sathya Sandeepani will captain the side, SLC said in a statement. The One-Day matches will be played on May 12, 15 and 18 at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium (RDICS), Dambulla.

The series is the first home assignment for the Sri Lanka Women in the run-up to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, and follows the team’s recent T20I tour of Bangladesh in which they closed out a 25-run win in Sylhet en route to a 2-0 series victory.

Sandeepani’s appointment as One-Day captain comes against the backdrop of a wider white-ball reshuffle on the men’s side, with SLC moving to appoint Kusal Mendis as ODI and T20I captain from the upcoming West Indies tour.
