Sri Lanka closed the second day of their tour warm-up against a West Indies Select XI on 173 for four, 32 runs behind the hosts’ first-innings total, at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua, Newswire reported.

The visitors had bowled the Select XI out for 205 earlier in the day, with fast bowler Lahiru Kumara returning the standout figures of 4 for 39. Opener McKenzie top-scored for the home side with 58 and Kevin Wickham made 20.

In reply, Nishan Madushka struck 46 from 49 balls to give Sri Lanka a brisk start. Captain Dhananjaya de Silva contributed 34 and Dinesh Chandimal anchored the lower-middle order, remaining unbeaten on 54 at stumps alongside Sonal Dinusha on 5. The Newswire bulletin did not break down wickets or bowling figures for the West Indies Select XI.

The fixture is a three-day red-ball warm-up ahead of the Test series, the final leg of Sri Lanka’s June–July multi-format tour of the Caribbean. Madushka, Dhananjaya, Chandimal and Kumara are all part of the 15-man Test squad named in May under Dhananjaya’s captaincy, and the match is the side’s first red-ball outing in the West Indies after the white-ball legs of the tour — the ODI series Sri Lanka won 2-0 and the T20I series the hosts took 2-1.

Cricket West Indies named a 15-member Test squad earlier this week with Roston Chase as captain and Jomel Warrican as vice-captain. The two-Test series venues and starting dates have not yet been confirmed publicly. Day 3 of the warm-up resumes Saturday with Sri Lanka chasing a first-innings lead.
